Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Farmfoods in Edinburgh. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the success of our shop, working closely with the Shop Manager to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop a team of retail assistants to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
- Assist the Shop Manager in managing the shop's operations, including stock control, inventory management, and cash handling
- Take ownership of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, ensuring seamless customer service and efficient operations
- Collaborate with the Shop Manager to develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and visual merchandising plans
- Monitor and control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll
- Proven experience as a manager, team leader, or supervisor in a retail environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings
- Basic knowledge of retail operations, including stock control, inventory management, and cash handling
