Audit and Accounts Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit and Accounts Manager to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for leading audits from planning to completion, preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, and working closely with clients to build trusted relationships.

About the Role
  • Lead audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, from planning to completion
  • Allocate audit work in the field and the office
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts
  • Prepare tax computations when relevant to audit assignments
  • Work closely with clients to build trusted relationships, being their go-to person for support
  • Deliver a strong commercial awareness, reviewing opportunities for fee development
  • Confidently present work to Partners, completing files to a high standard
  • Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance
  • Delegate work to and mentor an audit team, supporting their learning and development
  • Represent the firm at networking opportunities and support the provision of marketing and sales services

The Successful Applicant
  • ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified with demonstrable experience in UK practice
  • A proven track record of leading audits from planning to completion
  • Adept at accounts preparation and leading all commercial aspects of portfolio management
  • Experience managing a team of accountants
  • Excellent work ethic and hands-on approach
  • Self-motivated and eager to progress
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • Good awareness of current affairs and emerging trends
  • A can-do attitude and a proactive problem solver
  • A natural relationship builder
