An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Emergency Department at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities- Facilitate, manage, and be responsible for the effective management and movement of patients through all the emergency acute care areas.
- Combine considerable experience, clinical relationships, utilisation of staff, and available resources to ensure all patients receive a high standard of specialist nursing care.
- Be a clinical expert and an excellent role model, providing a clear focus for clinical leadership, and be responsible for ensuring excellence through clinical care, managing, teaching, and encouraging professional development for all staff.
- Meet the Emergency Department Clinical Quality Indicators, KPIs, and National Performance Targets, and where necessary, the wider acute floor.
This is a senior leadership role that requires a high level of autonomy, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements- NMC registration with current PIN.
- Minimum of 3 years emergency care experience.
- Substantial experience at Band 6 in an acute care setting.
- Evidence of academic qualification relating to Emergency Care.
- Mentorship course.
- Emergency Care Pathway.
- Leadership experience.
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
