About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Blaina and Brynmawr. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs to live independently in their community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide front-line support to service users, building trusting relationships and promoting their independence.
  • Administer medication (training will be provided) and ensure service users have choice and control in the delivery of their support.
  • Support service users with medical appointments, community activities, and emotional regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with the service user's care team to ensure their needs are met.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
  • Training in medication administration will be supplied.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with service users and understand the value of setting safe boundaries and expectations.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, non-judgmental, resilient, and empathetic.
  • Understanding of PIE, ACEs, and strength/restorative-based approaches.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs, disrupted attachments, interpersonal difficulties, and challenging behavior.
