Our client, a world-renowned leader in the scientific and satellite/space industries, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Compliance and Verification Engineer to join their team in Chelmsford. This exciting opportunity will involve working at the forefront of technology, ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standards across a range of systems for space applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the creation of embedded software and FPGA development, overseeing verification and release processes in line with ECSS standards and requirements, and ensuring correct processes are followed throughout the life cycle of the product. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation, software, and FPGA code meets standards and compliance requirements, carrying out reviews of processes, including source code reviews, generating test plans and procedures, and delivering testing and verification of FPGA and software development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Ensure compliance across the software development life cycle
  • Verify high-reliability software
  • Drive the creation of embedded software and FPGA development
  • Oversee verification and release processes in line with ECSS standards and requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high-reliability coding standards (e.g. MISRA)
  • Knowledge of Space, Aerospace, or Defence development standards
  • Experience in ensuring compliance across the software development life cycle
  • Experience verifying high-reliability software
  • Ability to develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Experience with version control and issue tracking software (e.g. Git/Jira)
  • Experience programming in C and with embedded bare-metal
  • Experience developing automated test scripts (ideally with Python)
