About the Role

As a Therapeutic Support Specialist at Place2Be, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in our partner schools. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your mental health and counselling skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

You will work closely with our experienced teams to deliver high-quality services that meet the unique needs of each school community. With regular supervision, tailored training, and a comprehensive induction programme, you will have everything you need to excel in this role. Our teams provide a range of services to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work, and play, supporting children's ability to engage in school life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one counselling sessions to up to three children per day, accepting clinical hours towards professional accreditation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements
  • Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above) or Degree, MSc, or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
  • Relevant experience of direct work with children, ideally in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.
