About the Role

We are seeking a talented Design Engineering Specialist to join our team at SBR (Southbourne Rubber).

The ideal candidate will have a robust technical design background and be responsible for designing and developing new products and improving existing ones.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new components using SolidWorks and CATIA software, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) using non-linear techniques to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the development of customer programs from conception to production before ownership of NPI.
  • Provide value-added engineering support to internal and external teams as required.
  • Possess knowledge of manufacturing processes, including tooling and production techniques, to optimise designs for manufacturability.
Requirements
  • A degree or high-level achievement in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in technical design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks & CATIA design software.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, particularly non-linear techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
