Deputy Head of Stage

Ambassador Theatre Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as Deputy Head of Stage at the Playhouse Theatre.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in stage management, supporting the Head of Stage and Technical and Building Manager in the day-to-day running of the theatre. You will be responsible for assisting with the get ins, fit ups, and get outs of new productions and visiting events, as well as maintaining and upkeeping the theatre to ensure a high standard of service for visiting companies.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a clear communicator, able to work closely with the Head of Stage and Technical & Building Manager to develop effective working relationships with visiting companies, the venue team, colleagues in London theatres, and ATG's central services. You will also need to manage the department, balancing practical technical work with management responsibilities. Regular evening and weekend work will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Stage and Technical & Building Manager in the day-to-day running of the theatre
  • Support the get ins, fit ups, and get outs of new productions and visiting events
  • Maintain and upkeep the theatre to ensure a high standard of service
  • Develop effective working relationships with visiting companies, the venue team, colleagues in London theatres, and ATG's central services
  • Manage the department, balancing practical technical work with management responsibilities
