About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Development Engineer to join our team at Sammons Recruitment Ltd, a leading global organisation at the forefront of new product development. As a key member of our team, you will lead technical resource and process development engineering for new product projects and advanced development programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex engineering calculations to determine optimal material properties, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, and other relevant factors for machine and tool designs.
  • Analyse Product Requirement specifications to identify the most effective manufacturing routing in Operations, contributing to the development of equipment, processes, and products.
  • Produce detailed tolerance analysis, process capability analysis, and bills of materials for equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the engineering manager and project managers to design and cost estimate CAD tooling, as well as determine resource requirements for new processing equipment.
  • Review product requirements with respect to extrusion and expansion processes, and machine capabilities, in collaboration with Product Development engineering.
  • Determine the necessary tools, fixtures, and equipment for extrusion, cross-linking, expansion, and finishing processes.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in manufacturing, new product and process development, automation, and equipment design. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in various engineering fields, with a focus on process equipment design and automated systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on process equipment design and automated systems.
  • Desirable experience with extrusion and applicable tooling, as well as high-shear compound mixing.
  • Proficiency in CAD and ANSYS software.
  • Knowledge of control systems is highly desirable.
