This is an exciting opportunity for a claims professional to join our Property & Casualty Claims Department, working within the Casualty team. Depending on future work volumes, the chance to work on the Ipswich Property and Construction Claims Team may arise. Our team uses their expertise to handle even the most complex claims.

This role suits someone interested in Casualty claims, with the ability to adapt to changing workloads and communicate effectively at all levels.
You will be based in our Ipswich office, with the option to work remotely through our Smart Working initiative. Occasional travel to our London office may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of claims up to a pre-determined authority level, engaging proactively with stakeholders to resolve claims promptly, fairly, and with due expertise.
- Liaise with brokers and/or clients to investigate liability and discuss claims protocols, activity, trends, and defensibility.
- Ensure all claims are reserved within company guidelines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, and other internal departments as required.
- Provide guidance and direction to Third-Party Administrators and Legal Partners for claims outside Delegated Authority arrangements.
- Effectively manage claims diaries to review claims every 90 days.
- Conduct regular meetings with delegated claims partners to oversee portfolio performance, improvement areas, and fund adequacy.
- Attend audit performance discussions with key partners, ensuring action points are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Work with Offshore / Shared Services to enhance and supplement support received.
- Attend underwriting-driven meetings to explore and explain portfolio management performance and offer opinions on risks and businesses.
- Prepare and present large claim activity to the Management / Leadership team.
- Assist Underwriters with renewal proposals, ensuring they have necessary claims detail.
- Liaise with Brokers / Co-insurers / other Defendants as required.
- Manage Litigated cases effectively and within company practices and expectations.
- Manage static and inactive claims across the wider team as required.
- Analyse data sets to expose outliers and anomalies as part of the performance management regime.
You will report to the Assistant Claims Manager / Claims Manager.

We're looking for someone with:
- An interest in handling Casualty claims.
- Knowledge of the MOJ Claims Portal is preferable but not essential.
- Confident and effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Excellent organization.
- Ability to work on team activities or individually.
- Competence in all Microsoft suite products.
- Ability to find solutions - innovative.
- A high level of numeracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness to show pragmatism when required.
- Preparedness to seek guidance or authority when uncertain – be accountable.

- Ability to prioritise tasks and responsibilities.
- Education to A Level standard or equivalent experience as a minimum.
