Job Overview

As a Senior Fabric Technologist at ASOS, you will play a crucial role in implementing the company's fabric and trims strategy, aligning with commercial and technical objectives. You will lead a team to deliver key milestones and ensure high-quality and consistency in global manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of fabric and trims strategy, aligning with commercial and technical objectives.
  • Deliver ASOS fabric management (ACFT) training to empower suppliers on fabric self-approvals, supporting speed to market and RFT quality.
  • Ensure high-quality and consistency in global manufacturing by using approved core fabrics for bulk production and managing a bulk-approved core fabric library.
  • Deliver fabric training modules across the business and suppliers, and regular meetings with ACFT to discuss monthly testing performance and CAP.
  • Re-engineer and develop fabrics through various mills to achieve best fabric price, together with regional support.
  • Deliver newness and innovation of materials, working closely with other commercial teams.
  • Support the consolidation of fabric mills regionally and globally.
  • Support the Head of Fabric in delivering cost savings through fabric and yarn negotiations, working in close collaboration with commercial teams.
  • Attend seasonal buying reviews of relevant departments to standardize fabric quality, reduce variance, and improve garment performance.
  • Develop new fabric trends and innovation of materials, closely working with commercial teams.
  • Support in mapping mills and raw material work to support Fashion with Integrity goals.
  • Use a Mill Accreditation system to build partnerships with the best yarn & fabric mills.
