Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Sector Financial Reporting Assistant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting audits with financial reporting and accounting knowledge.

You will provide training, guidance, and quality assurance to deliver high-quality audits, adding value to public sector organisations. Your expertise will help us build strong relationships with our audit teams and collaborate with colleagues in Financial Reporting and Audit Quality teams.

  • Critically review draft financial statements and manage risk to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Draft responses to complex financial reporting queries and consult on internal guidance and training materials.
  • Assist with the development of project management experience and collaboration with colleagues.

The minimum criteria for this role include:

  • A professional Accounting qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ICAS, CA, or ACCA).
  • Post-qualification experience in External Audit to Local Authorities and Health bodies or within Local Government or Health finance.
  • Excellent grasp of IFRS accounting standards and public sector implementation.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting in the public sector.
  • Project management experience is essential for this role.

This role comes with a competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
