Job Title: Senior Terrorism

The Role

  • Drive the creation and delivery of the business plan for the Political Violence team, ensuring targeted income levels are met and growth targets are achieved year-on-year.
  • Underwrite Political Violence risks, exercising judgment and adhering to underwriting limits, in accordance with the Underwriting business plan.
  • Establish and run projects to serve clients and diversify the portfolio from a risk and income perspective.
  • Conduct book reviews and regular monitoring to ensure the business plan is executed.
  • Monitor and record aggregate and reporting information.
  • Review and analyze slips and other information, exercising judgment and acting within authority limits.
  • Make written records of conversations with customers, in accordance with the firm's procedures manual.
  • Negotiate new wordings and structures to meet clients' needs and regulatory requirements, while preserving a prudent risk appetite.
  • Ensure company procedures and systems are followed and maintained.
  • Address contract certainty issues for all relevant risks.
  • Review and administer existing contracts, making amendments in line with MRSG's underwriting philosophy.
  • Monitor risk entry and amend as necessary.
  • Provide information to the Peer Review Group and respond to queries.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of underwriting principles, legal principles, FCA and Lloyd's rules and regulations, and company-specific procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of other syndicate lines of business and the roles of colleagues.
