Meteorological Consultant

Join our team at DTN in Aberdeen as a skilled Meteorologist/Forecaster. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting the weather to help our clients make informed decisions about the agriculture, oil and gas, trading, and weather industries.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary duties will include:
- Interpreting meteorological data to provide accurate forecasts to key clients in various sectors, primarily Offshore clients
- Collaborating with your colleagues to create the weather forecast narrative and briefings
- Monitoring outstanding weather forecasts against actual observation data and updating forecasts as needed
- Providing critical alerts to clients impacted by adverse weather events
- Acting as a point of contact for clients seeking meteorological consultations and business risk assessments
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Experience in weather forecasting, preferably in an industry setting
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- The ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results
- A strong supportive team player mindset
The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between £23,797-£29,000. DTN offers a pay-for-performance compensation structure, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation based on performance over time. The actual base pay offered will depend on factors such as prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity, and applicable laws. This role may also be eligible for market-competitive variable pay and benefits.
