As a Meteorologist/Forecaster at DTN, you will play a critical role in monitoring and forecasting the weather through the interpretation of observations and numerical weather prediction model output. You will work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and nights, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of forecasts to key clients.
Salary
£23,797 - £29,000 per annum, with opportunities to advance compensation with performance over time. Additionally, this role may be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
Job Description
As a Meteorologist/Forecaster at DTN, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Producing and delivering forecasts to key clients in various sectors, primarily offshore clients
- Creating the weather forecast narrative and briefing this to your colleagues
- Monitoring outstanding weather forecasts against actual observation data and updating forecasts as required
- Sending out alerts to clients impacted by adverse weather events
- Being a point of contact for our clients for meteorological consultations and business risk assessments
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in weather forecasting is preferred
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines
- A strong supportive team player
