Project Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Control Specialist to join our team at Vulcain Engineering - UK. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a crucial role in the success of our Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work on a mega-infrastructure project that aligns with the UK Government's strategy of Net Zero 2050.
You will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining project schedules/plans for either the Central Controls Team or one of the Programme Controls Teams.
With your expertise in scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6, you will ensure timely and accurate maintenance of the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with HPC processes.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule Management: Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6), with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising approved construction techniques;
- Level 2 IWS Updates: Ensure the Level 2 IWS is updated to an agreed timeframe for monthly reporting;
- HPC Schedules: Ensure the HPC Level 3 schedules are updated when required to reflect work progress and performance, to an agreed timeframe defined by the Central Controls Team;
- Contractor Schedules: Ensure that contractor schedules are produced in accordance with HPC processes and ensure that they align to the IWS forecast position;
- Daily and Weekly Planning: Maintain daily and weekly work planning in 4D model;
- Quality Checks: Provide quality checks on the Scheduling data;
- Time-Related Issues: Identify, analyse and provide solutions to time-related issues;
- Schedule Reports: Co-ordinate and produce schedule reports to a defined reporting cycle;
- Trend & Change Process: Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis of schedule impact, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities;
- Essential Skills: Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques; technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques in a UK context; ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans; good working knowledge of P6; high level of analytical and numerical skills; good attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Desirable Skills: Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and associated software; understanding of earned value analysis; understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC; working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques;
- Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience;
