About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Consultant to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in General Medicine and Rheumatology, with a proven track record of managing complex cases and leading clinical teams. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and to contribute to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex medical cases
  • Lead and manage clinical teams, including junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our quality improvement strategy
Requirements
  • MRCP qualification
  • 4-5 years training at St3+ level in GIM and Rheumatology
  • Wide training in all relevant aspects of medicine
  • Interest and significant experience in Rheumatology
  • Interest in working in partnership with Emergency Medicine managing patients with acute medical problems during the process of acute medical admissions
  • Evidence of experience in the clinical management of rheumatology patients
  • Experience in quality improvement projects related to service improvement for rheumatology
