We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner in Clinical Research to join our team at Mersey Care, a leading provider of specialist inpatient and community services for physical and mental health, learning disability, addiction, and brain injury services.

About the Role:

  • As a Nurse Practitioner in Clinical Research, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of research projects aimed at improving health outcomes for children and young people in mental health services.
  • You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess and manage care pathways for children and young people participating in clinical studies.
  • Your responsibilities will include recruiting and educating research participants, collecting and documenting accurate data, and contributing to the overall success of research projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the development and implementation of research projects to improve health outcomes for children and young people in mental health services.
  2. Assess and manage care pathways for children and young people participating in clinical studies, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Recruit and educate research participants, collect and document accurate data, and contribute to the overall success of research projects.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, families, and carers.
  5. Collaborate with senior nurses and multidisciplinary teams to identify suitable patients for clinical studies.

Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable experience in clinical research and innovation in children and young people's services.
  • Evidence of nursing expertise and ability to assess and manage complex care pathways.
  • Specialist knowledge of research legislation, guidelines for good clinical practice (GCP), and national frameworks.
  • Knowledge of clinical and research terminology.
  • Experience of assessment in mental health, including risk management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge within a required disease site, such as children and young people's services/mental health.
  • Evidence of previous patient/client and multidisciplinary team contact within a work environment.
  • Experience of delivering research studies in children and young people's services.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse - Current registration with the NMC: Children's Nursing or Mental Health.
  • Able to make independent decisions and advise others on appropriate action.
  • Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC professional code.

Salary and Benefits:
