Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Night Paediatric Complex Care Worker. The successful candidate will provide high-quality overnight care for a baby with complex medical needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in paediatric complex care, particularly with tracheostomy and ventilation management. Knowledge of NG feeding and the ability to monitor and manage oxygen therapy are essential requirements. A calm, reliable, and attentive approach under pressure is also crucial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage essential medical equipment and respond promptly to any changes in condition.
  • Provide routine tracheostomy care and suctioning to maintain a clear airway.
  • Respond swiftly to any emergencies or blockages.
  • Monitor the baby's ventilation equipment to ensure optimal function and adjust settings as required (under guidance).
  • Address alarms or issues promptly.
  • Administer feeds, hydration, and medications via NG tube (transitioning to PEG care).
  • Perform routine care and maintenance of feeding equipment.
  • Monitor oxygen levels and adjust flow rates as necessary to ensure appropriate saturation levels.
  • Regularly check and document vital signs, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation, throughout the night.
  • Ensure the baby is comfortable and reposition as needed to prevent pressure sores or discomfort.
  • Provide updates to parents and healthcare professionals as required.
