Principal Civil and Structural Engineer

Hays Careers is seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil and Structural Engineer to join their team in Northampton. As a key member of the engineering management team, you will be responsible for leading projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage engineering projects, including resource planning, programming, design reviews, and ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of Engineers and CAD Technicians, adhering to ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO14001 management systems.
  • Mentor and review the work of engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Conduct conceptual and detailed design of construction methods and temporary structures to Eurocode standards.
  • Perform structural analysis using software such as STAAD Pro and LUSAS.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive experience in engineering management and structural design, particularly steelwork.
  • Flair for engineering solutions and ability to mentor and review the work of engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocode standards and ability to conduct conceptual and detailed design of construction methods and temporary structures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
