Learning Support Assistant SEN Primary School

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN, assisting them in their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement personalized education plans (IEPs) tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging students to participate and develop confidence in their abilities.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to inform ongoing support and interventions.
  • Support students during social and emotional development, helping them build interpersonal skills and resilience.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is desirable but not essential, as the school is willing to provide training for the right candidate.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity in education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and constructive approach.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively while supporting multiple students and tasks in the classroom.
  • A clear DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
