The University of Sussex is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team. You will be a key member of the University's flagship Network Replacement Project, which is working to provide a modern network that will underpin transformative learning experiences and enable world-leading research.

As a Network Engineer, you will leverage your extensive expertise in LAN and WAN, IP address management, firewalls, and security access control systems to deliver innovative solutions and ensure network stability and security.

Active participation for the support of WAN, LAN, routing, Wi-Fi, firewall and network security, IPAM, network access control.

Collaborating with other teams to ensure IT systems and solutions being adopted meet the evolving needs of the University and its students and researchers.

To excel in this role, you should possess knowledge of the following:

  • Network Access Control systems (preferably Clearpass)
  • Managing and configuring Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches
  • Network services such as DNS and DHCP
  • Network cabling technologies including both structured cabling and fibre optic network cables.

Designing, configuring and troubleshooting Juniper networks

3 years of relevant Network experience within information security/technology focused on networking.

Formal certification including Juniper, Cisco CCNP or multiple CCNA across Network technologies/areas.

Salary: Grade 7 starting at £37,999 to £45,163 per annum, pro rata if part time.
