Job Title: Transport Driver

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Transport Driver to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Transport Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods, linen, pharmacy supplies, medical specimens, and Trust staff around the Trust and delivering/picking up from other contracted service users.

Main Duties:

  • Transport goods, linen, pharmacy supplies, medical specimens, and Trust staff around the Trust and deliver/pick up from other contracted service users.
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy state and promote good customer service to users.
  • Complete legal and service required checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security of the vehicle at all times.
  • Record fuel input activity and ensure fuel saving driving techniques are used.
  • Responsible for vehicle and contents when driving and on the route.

Requirements:

  • Basic numeracy and literacy qualifications.
  • Valid driving licence for relevant classes of vehicle.
  • Experience of working within a similar environment.
  • Considerable experience employed as a driver.

Working Circumstances:

The role is part-time, 25 hours working 10.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday, 6am to 10am Friday. You may be required to work unsocial hours, provide cover for other journeys and tasks, and work flexible hours.
