Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant/Support Staff to join our team in Wigan. As a key member of our education team, you will provide essential support to teachers and students in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Class Teacher: Assist the class teacher in the day-to-day running of the classroom, including supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Develop a positive and supportive relationship with all students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Use Initiative and Behaviour Management: Use your initiative to uphold strong behaviour management and adapt your support style to suit individual needs.
  • Support Groups and Individuals: Support groups of students and work one-to-one with students who require additional support.
Requirements:
  • English and Maths Skills: Strong English and Maths skills are essential for this role.
  • Phonics Knowledge: Previous experience or knowledge of Phonics is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience with Children: Previous experience of volunteering or working with children in the past 5 years is required.
  • Eligibility to Work in the UK: You must be eligible to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
  • References and DBS: You must have two suitable references covering the last 2 years and hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
