Job Summary
AnnieMac Home Mortgage is seeking a highly motivated and experienced External Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with real estate professionals, title and escrow officers, financial advisors, and other industry partners to generate new business and drive loan volume.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business by building and maintaining relationships with real estate professionals, title and escrow officers, financial advisors, and other industry partners.
- Regularly participate in mortgage sales, including attending closings and open houses, and conducting seminars and other lead-generating activities.
- Take information from borrowers and fill out loan applications.
- Develop relationships with referral partners to generate new customers.
- Analyze borrowers' income and debt to determine maximum mortgage amounts.
- Counsel borrowers on home buying and financing processes, advising on different loan products and explaining closing costs and monthly payments.
- Collect financial information and other related documents as part of the application process.
- Provide disclosures to borrowers, including truth-in-lending and good-faith estimates.
- Counsel borrowers on credit problems and maintain regular contact with borrowers, real estate professionals, and lenders throughout the application process.
- Order legal documents and review HUDs prior to closing.
Requirements
- Must have appropriate state license or certificate.
- Must have thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies.
- Must have working knowledge of credit underwriting and property eligibility requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
- Must be familiar with local, state, and national laws, zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.
- Must have excellent communication skills and ability to analyze financial information.
- Must be a sales-oriented self-starter.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Travel is required 80% of the time.
