Job Description
The Relief Manager will be responsible for:
- Running an entire care home when the Home Manager is absent or recruiting for a new one;
- Taking responsibility for the well-being of residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met;
- Leading, motivating, and mentoring the care team, delivering clinical guidance and training;
- Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans for each resident;
- Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies, and legislation;
- Promoting residents' independence, choice, dignity, and respect through high-quality care and continuous improvement;
- Helping residents access local services and participating in the community;
- Monitoring business performance and quality of care;
- Developing policies and practices and maintaining confidentiality;
- Working within the NMC codes of conduct;
- Providing support and professional supervision to care staff and nursing staff as appropriate;
- Ensuring effective communication with relatives and other healthcare professionals;
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the care home.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid NMC registration;
- Current Home Manager experience;
- Strong leadership and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent clinical knowledge and skills;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the NMC codes of conduct.
