Commissioning Editor Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Editor to join our team at Inspired Search & Selection. As a Commissioning Editor, you will be responsible for developing and managing our Schools publishing portfolio, which includes both digital and print materials. This role requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships with international colleagues, clients, and officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission and publish high-quality print and digital learning materials to meet market needs.
  • Manage complex projects with fixed budgets and deadlines.
  • Coordinate teams of authors, educational consultants, freelance project managers, editors, designers, and illustrators.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with international colleagues, clients, and officials.
  • Build and expand a network of professional contacts.
  • Create and maintain schedules.
  • Content edit and copy edit learning materials.

Requirements:

  • Experience in educational publishing, with a focus on developing digital and print products.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with international colleagues, clients, and officials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
