Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst Apprentice to join our Corporate and Commercial Finance team in Peterborough. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in the success of our business, responsible for Management reporting for the Publishing sector of News UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile actual spend to weekly management accounts and forecast/budget
  • Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations and monthly commentary, investigate GRNI balances and parked/blocked invoices
  • Support the London Finance teams with ad hoc queries and meet with stakeholders to understand drivers for variances
  • Capitalise Fixed Assets and provide ad hoc support to the CapEx team
  • Provide ad hoc support to the team as needed

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified, actively studying for ACCA/CIMA professional examinations with at least 2 years relevant work experience
  • Strong analysis and data interpretation skills
  • Ability to get to grips with new financial reporting systems quickly, e.g. IBM Cognos/TM1 and SAP, strong Excel skills
  • Ability to identify key performance indicators, adhere to reporting timetables and adopt processes
