Financial Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team at Vargo Group. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling customer account balances and transactions, as well as reporting to corporate clients about processing issues and reconciliations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily reconciliations of cash, assets, and portfolio securities.
  2. Compile information for daily payments and input data into various banking and e-payment systems.
  3. Process cheques received and upload files onto Bottomline and SUN Ledger systems.
  4. Maintain day-to-day accounting records of ISA and SIPP holders.
  5. Work to strict deadlines on daily and monthly cycles, with flexibility to meet deadlines as needed.
  6. Monitor shared inboxes and complete ad-hoc projects as required by the Finance Team.
  7. General Ledger postings and account reconciliations.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience and knowledge of financial products (SIPP, ISA, GIA, LISA) is highly desirable.
  2. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to liaise with employees across all levels.
  3. Ability to work within an extremely challenging and busy environment.
  4. Highly organized, with ability to prioritize workloads and have excellent attention to detail.
  5. Flexibility and strong team player to collectively achieve deadlines.
  6. Positive and can-do attitude.
  7. Integrity and professional behavior must be applied at all times.
Education and Qualifications:
  1. Interested in the pensions and investments sector.
  2. Experience of operational finance or financial services.
  3. Intermediate Excel experience.
  4. Experience in a similar role is desirable.
  5. Finance qualification is not essential but desirable or QBE.
Location and Hours:

Vargo Group, [insert location]
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
