SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Education Assistant to join our team at a SEN School in Bedford. This role offers valuable experience for anyone pursuing a career in youth work or social and mental health support.
About the Role- You will provide essential support to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- You will work closely with the school's clinical team to make a lasting impact on students' lives.
Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 per annum (based on 40 hours per week)
This is a long-term, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 15:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer first-class support to students with complex needs.
- Develop your understanding of mental health and behavioural challenges through hands-on experience.
- Work closely with the school's clinical team to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field is preferred.
- Passion for Mental Health: A strong interest in mental health and working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
- Understanding of SEN: A commitment to understanding and addressing the unique learning and behavioural needs in an SEN setting.
- Local Candidate: Ideally located within a commutable distance to Hitchin.
