About the Role

As a Production Engineer at the Institute of the Motor Industry Limited, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success of our team.

Your primary responsibilities will include the installation, commissioning, and approval of new equipment, as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement throughout the plant.

Responsibilities:
  1. Equipment Installation: Install and commission new equipment to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
  2. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  3. Capacity Planning: Plan and forecast production capacity to meet customer demands.
  4. Lean Manufacturing: Deploy APQP for new developments/changes and implement Lean Manufacturing toolkits.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally in Aerospace.
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing, Process or Production Engineer roles.
  • Experience of using lean manufacturing tools.
  • Relevant engineering/manufacturing qualification HND or above.
  • Green Belt qualification in Lean Manufacturing - not essential.
