Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Coating Specialist to join our team at Simpson Booth Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical ownership of the CRCE coating scope of work, including document creation, contractual supplier document register ownership, and internal and external client interface for testing scopes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare project technical and quality documentation and reports.
  2. Ensure that required documentation for field joint coating activities are finalized to client satisfaction, on time.
  3. Collect, implement, and extend know-how and experience for the purpose of improving customer service.
  4. Provide timely specialist field joint coating support for all phases of a project technical liaison and communications with subcontractors/vendors.
  5. Instruct onshore personnel and subcontractors in accordance with agreed plans.
  6. Client interaction on technical and quality issues. Technical representation of PIH at Client's Project Meetings.
  7. Liaising with other departments and site providing technical/quality support.
  8. Review of Client and 3rd party scope of work including suppliers and specifications.
  9. Support to sales team for specification reviews, lab testing scopes, etc.
  10. Technical support for the planning and execution of Procedure Qualification Trials (PQT's) in conjunction with the relevant service delivery departments.
Requirements:
  1. Science-based academic qualifications to A-Level or B Tech standard.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Nautical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
  3. Good practical and theoretical knowledge of pipeline installation techniques.
  4. Good practical knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
Desirable Skills:
  1. A strong communicator when discussing and planning technical aspects.
  2. Commercially aware.
  3. Good presentation and client-facing skills.
  4. Excellent all-round IT skills.
  5. Strong problem-solving acumen.
  6. Good technical report writing skills with the ability to import visuals, photos, and diagrams into reports.
  7. Good technical understanding of various coating materials.
