Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at LKA Recruitment. The successful candidate will work closely with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), delivering occupational therapy in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare, deliver, and evaluate therapeutic and educational support programmes.
  2. Set goals as part of each pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  3. Collaborate with parents and staff to ensure effective support.
  4. Conduct interventions, therapy, and pupil learning support.
  5. Record and report on pupil progress for annual reviews.
  6. Participate in appraisals and maintain accurate intervention records.
  7. Contribute to staff meetings, whole-school events, and provide cover when needed.
  8. Safeguarding support on school premises and during external activities.
  9. Supervise students and therapy assistants as required.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Occupational Therapist (OT).
  2. HCPC registration.
  3. Proven experience working with children with SEN and SpLD.
  4. IT literacy for clinical and administrative tasks.
  5. Strong understanding of risk management, health and safety, and child protection practices.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions and Benefits:
  1. Part-time role: 2 days per week (16 hours), 37 weeks per year (term time only).
  2. Full-time role: 40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year (term time only).
  3. Workplace pension scheme.
  4. Daily on-site lunches and twice-weekly breakfasts provided when on-site.
