Key Mechanical Support Specialist

The Mechanical Support Specialist will be an integral part of the Engineering & Manufacturing department in the Defence sector, providing key technical support and ensuring the smooth running of operations.
Our client is a large multinational corporation in the Defence Industry based in the UK. They have a strong global presence and are known for their commitment to quality and innovation.
As a Mechanical Support Specialist, you will be tasked with the following:
- Ensuring processes are maintained and operated in a safe manner and escalating issues affecting safety within the given production area
- Provisioning of and adherence to dynamic risk assessments for non-standard operations and tasks
- Ensuring that work undertaken adheres to relevant quality standards and providing support in the implementation of quality improvement projects
- Attending and contributing to daily SQCDP & DSUM cell reviews
- Operating of manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements
- Supporting implementation of continuous improvement activities
- Providing motivation and support to apprentices to ensure development of a sustainable capability
- Identifying, raising and implementing solutions to safety, quality and production problems
A successful Mechanical Support Specialist should have:
- An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical Engineer or similar
- Experience in metal forming or similar background is desirable
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe operation of manufacturing processes
- Implement quality improvement projects
- Support apprentices' development
- Identify and implement solutions to safety, quality and production problems
