Main Job Responsibilities

The Clinical Physiologist role in the visual electrophysiology department primarily involves testing a wide variety of patients and volunteers, of all ages, utilizing a range of electrophysiological and psychophysical techniques, to assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To perform various tests on patients and volunteers using a variety of both electrophysiological and psychophysical techniques, and possibly to supervise the performing of such tests by students.
  • To perform the initial quantification of such tests, and to annotate and document the results of this analysis.
  • To participate in the research work of the department.
  • To further their understanding of visual electrophysiology and ophthalmology through study and attendance at appropriate teaching and scientific meetings; to maintain continuing professional development.
  • To assist with the preparation of data for presentation.
  • General office tasks.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Science Degree

Experience:

  • Clinical experience.
  • Experience in visual pathway testing on all ages.
  • Experience of psychophysical testing.
  • Competent use of a range of software applications.
