We are partnering with a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Trainee Caretaker, on a 3-month contract, with potential for extension. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £10.79 - £13.50 per hour

Job Summary:

To provide a mobile caretaking and cleaning service for all communal areas within blocks of flats, including high-rise blocks and community living complexes in Cardiff. Additionally, to assist with cleaning and clearance within hostels and supported housing accommodation, including Voids, HLS, and other properties within the housing services stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with delivering a high-quality mobile cleaning service and provide support to Voids, HLS, and Hostels.
  • Undertake duties in line with service area and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure risk assessments are followed and tasks are carried out in accordance with the council's health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Report repairs and notify the Community Action Supervisor promptly if asbestos has been disturbed.
  • Assist with cleaning and clearance of properties, surrounding areas, and communal spaces using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain routine documentation, including daily defect books, driver's daily return forms, and other transport documentation.

  • Experience with new technology.
