About the Role:

The Commercial Director will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of this Gas contract, requiring a strategic leader with extensive experience in commercial management, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will ensure the contract's commercial viability and profitability, working closely with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective commercial strategies to ensure the financial viability and profitability of the contract.
  2. Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and managing variations and claims.
  3. Financial Management: Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial stability.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders, acting as the primary commercial point of contact.
  5. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with the project, developing robust risk management plans.
  6. Reporting: Provide regular commercial and financial reports to senior management, highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities.
  7. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working for a UK Main Contractor as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within utilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or similar is desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies, excellent negotiation and contract management skills, strong financial acumen, exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, and proficiency in commercial and project management software.
Estimated Salary:

Up to £100k per annum, plus a bonus up to 20% and car allowance of £6.6k, comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development and career progression.
