Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Estates Maintenance Operative to join our team at Grand Union Housing Group Careers. As an Estates Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers enjoy safe and well-maintained outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including weeding, pruning, digging, hedge cutting, mowing, sweeping, and litter picking.
  • Control weeds, moss, and algae by spraying as needed.
  • Remove climbing plants from roofs and walls.
  • Clear ditches to maintain water flow.
  • Clear snow and apply salt to footpaths as required.
  • Keep an accurate daily log of completed jobs and spraying activities.
  • Assist with tree work, subject to qualifications and needs.
  • Report fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, and collect rubbish when requested.
  • Identify landscaping issues and suggest solutions.
  • Maintain and store equipment securely in good condition.
  • Ensure maintenance and servicing of the grounds vehicles, reporting issues promptly.
  • Use company-provided devices responsibly and keep them charged for business or emergency use.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. You will also need to be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time permanent position, working 37 hours per week. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Location:

This role is based in Milton Keynes, with occasional travel to other locations within the Grand Union Housing Group Careers area.
