We are seeking a dedicated Family Practitioner to join our 'Keeping Families Together' team within Bury Children's Social Care and Family Help service. This new initiative focuses on providing short-term intensive support to children, young people, and families experiencing complex issues.



The successful candidate will work with children and young people aged 8-18, along with their families, providing time-limited periods of intervention. They will use a variety of approaches to assist in rebuilding relationships, promoting long-term sustainable change, and reducing the risk of family breakdown.



The team will engage with the family's wider support networks to build resilience and strength within the family unit. The practice model is trauma-informed, and it is essential that the successful candidate shares this commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.



Key Responsibilities:


  • To provide intensive support and intervention to children and families identified as experiencing multiple and complex issues
  • To work with children and young people aged 8-18, along with their families, to rebuild relationships and promote long-term sustainable change
  • To engage with the family's wider support networks to build resilience and strength within the family unit
  • To use a trauma-informed practice model and commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
