Job Summary

Thomas Thor is seeking a highly skilled Human Factors Specialist to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for authoring human factors assessments for the SMR-300 small modular reactor design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Factors Assessments: Deliver comprehensive human factors assessments, documents, and plans to support the development of the SMR-300.
  • Safety Case Development: Assist in developing the human factors chapter of the safety case for the SMR-300+ GDA.
  • Team Coaching and Mentoring: Provide coaching and mentoring to the team, enhancing technical and personal skills for effective delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including nuclear regulators.
  • Project Collaboration: Actively engage in a project-driven and highly integrated engineering team.
Requirements
  • Human Factors Expertise: Human factors requirements derivation and knowledge of relevant standards and design guidance.
  • Task and Error Analysis: Experience in human factors task and error analysis.
  • HRA and Human-Based Safety Claims: Familiarity with HRA and human-based safety claims assessments.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of credible engagement within and outside the organisation.
  • Decision-Making: Decisive decision-maker, proficient in crafting strong justifications and arguments.
  • Eligibility: Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
