Job Description

We are seeking an experienced animal care professional to join our team as a Wildlife Care Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily management and care of all animals on a section, including aspects of animal husbandry, cleaning, food preparation, and feeding, enclosure maintenance, enrichment, observations, medical treatment, and positive reinforcement training.

This role involves maintaining organized written records pertaining to health, feeding, water quality, and behavioural observations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to engage enthusiastically with the public, providing animal experiences and talks when needed.

The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain and develop their own knowledge, undertaking training where required. This is an exciting opportunity for an animal lover to join our dedicated team and contribute to the well-being of our animals.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in biology or a related field, with specific knowledge of animal husbandry and behavioural conditioning, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience working with animals in a zoo setting.
  • A basic understanding of all species within the collection.
  • Demonstrable discipline and a history of consistently high work quality.
  • Knowledge and experience of word processing and spreadsheet software.
