Senior Ophthalmic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ophthalmic Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned ophthalmologist to lead our glaucoma service, providing expert care and management to patients.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality outpatient and surgical services for glaucoma patients. You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including the development of new community-based glaucoma monitoring services. Your expertise will also contribute to the strategic development of our glaucoma service across all King's sites.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ophthalmology, with a strong background in glaucoma. You will be a certified specialist in your field, with a track record of delivering high-quality patient care and leading clinical teams. Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality outpatient and surgical services for glaucoma patients.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the glaucoma service.
- Provide clinical supervision and education to junior staff.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) or equivalent.
- Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
- Extensive experience in ophthalmology, with a strong background in glaucoma.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
