We are seeking an experienced midwife to join our team at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 midwife, you will provide holistic midwifery care to women and babies in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work in the White Horse Birth Centre, which has a large lounge/kitchenette, a postnatal room, and four birthing rooms, two of which have birthing pools. You will be responsible for providing care to women and babies in all birthing environments, with a focus on providing gold standard care in a birth centre setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide holistic midwifery care to women and babies in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
- Work in the White Horse Birth Centre, providing care to women and babies in all birthing environments.
- Manage individual caseloads, clients, and/or ward areas.
- Deputise for the Band 7 in all clinical areas.
- Integrate and fulfill all identified dimensions of the role.
We are looking for a midwife who has:
- Recent experience in all aspects of midwifery practice.
- Competencies relevant to the sphere of practice.
- A good standard of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of current evidence-based midwifery practice.
- Ability to demonstrate competence in fetal monitoring.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of effective management of obstetric emergencies.
- Ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of medicines management.
- Ability to demonstrate key issues relating to safeguarding.
