About the Role

We are seeking a qualified pharmacist to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team at Warwick Hospital. As a Pharmacist Dispenser, you will play a vital role in delivering a safe, effective, and caring service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake the day-to-day work of the Pharmacy, including ordering, receiving, checking off stock, and dispensing hospital, private prescriptions, and TTOs.
  • Hand out medicines, over-the-counter sales of medicines, and relevant retail sales in a healthcare environment.
  • Share in achieving professional best practice and KPI targets.
  • Minimize waiting times for patients without compromising accuracy.
  • Ensure service quality and patient safety by following SOPs and Health and Safety policy.
  • Offer suggestions to improve the way we work, utilizing best practices.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships and good communications with patients and Trust employees.
  • Contribute to the teamwork ethic, enabling the best possible service and care to patients.
  • Ensure confidentiality of commercial and clinical information, adhering to GDPR and Freedom of Information legislation.
  • Complete stock control procedures and have a basic understanding of the robot functions.
  • Manage personal training and development.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and all other relevant legislation.
Person SpecificationExperience
  • Essential:
    • Good communication with patients and colleagues.
    • Accurate dispensing while working under pressure.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience of over-the-counter sales of medicines.
    • Dispensing of UK hospital outpatient prescriptions.
Qualifications
  • Essential:
    • GCSE at C grade in Maths and English.
    • NVQ2 modules relevant to the role.
    • UK Pharmacy dispensing accreditation and experience.
  • Desirable:
    • GCSE at Grade C in a Science subject.
Company Information

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, providing outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick and Stratford and Nuneaton hospitals. Our pharmacies are busy and operate Monday to Friday, with teams working well under pressure and liaising with hospital pharmacists, consultants, and clinical staff to ensure safe and accurate dispensing.
