About the Role:

Located in Uddingston, near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is a leading facility in Europe, specializing in creating biofuels from sewage sludge. This innovative approach reduces environmental impacts and provides a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

In this dual role, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the Daldowie Fuel Plant, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining 6 production units, including dryers and liquor treatment plants
  • Assisting in optimizing plant performance by reducing losses and maximizing dryer evaporative loading
  • Monitoring and controlling common plant systems and emergency services
  • Responding to emergency situations and unprecedented occurrences
  • Performing duties related to production, quality, sampling, thermal processes, and maintenance

In addition to Shift Operator duties, you will provide rapid response to Electrical and Instrumentation (EC&I) defects, supporting the Lead Electrical Engineer and Electrical Engineer in routine EC&I work when shift operational demands allow.

Requirements:

We are seeking an individual with a strong educational background, ideally holding a HNC level or having completed a recognized apprenticeship. Relevant experience in plant maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment, including 3-phase motors and associated switchgear, is highly desirable.

Process plant experience in maintenance, repair, installation, and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems is also beneficial. If you have a strong electrical background but less experience in control and instrumentation, we can provide on-the-job training to strengthen those skillsets.
