We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Astute People. This exciting 24-month contract is based on-site at Dungeness, Kent, offering the opportunity to work on critical engineering projects within a highly regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver fit-for-purpose engineering solutions and provide support for complex projects.
  • Define project requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Contribute to Project Execution Plans and support design, safety, and commissioning strategies.
  • Prepare modification proposals and provide technical assessment and supervision of contractors.
  • Oversee construction and commissioning activities to confirm compliance with design intent and specifications.
  • Coordinate with system engineers and stakeholders for smooth project handover.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a disciplined engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I) on industrial plant.
  • Background in nuclear or conventional project engineering, ideally within the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards and a regulated environment, preferably nuclear.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Safety Rules, risk assessment methodology, and CDM Designer responsibilities.
  • Contract management and hands-on project delivery experience.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and Site Licence requirements.
