This is a hands-on role that requires you to apply your knowledge and skills across multiple engineering disciplines. You will work alongside experienced technicians to develop expertise in areas like:

  • Electrical, electronic, and control systems
  • Mechanical engineering principles
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Safe working practices and maintenance procedures

You will be responsible for installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated equipment, fault finding, troubleshooting, and rectification of issues, planned and preventative maintenance activities, and modifications and upgrades to existing equipment.

About the Role

Throughout the apprenticeship program, you will work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechatronics Maintenance), gaining both practical, on-the-job experience and earning industry-recognized qualifications. The first year is full-time residential training at one of our training provider facilities, followed by day or block release training at a specialist college where you will study for an HNC in Engineering/Mechatronics.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a genuine passion for engineering and technology, good problem-solving abilities, and the motivation to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.

The right person for the apprenticeship program should be a UK national, or a non-UK national with the right to work in the UK, or an EU national and have settled status in the UK, and have lived in the UK or an EEA, or British overseas territory for 3 years or more prior to commencing the apprenticeship. They should also be resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program, and have a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent): Maths, English, and a science/technology subject.
