About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our dynamic team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Infection Prevention Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective infection prevention and control strategies to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote a culture of infection prevention and control, and provide education and training to staff.
  • Conduct risk assessments and investigations into outbreaks of infection, and develop and implement plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Work closely with the Infection Prevention and Control Team to ensure the effective implementation of infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to healthcare teams on infection prevention and control best practices.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
  • Professional or clinical qualification relevant to the specialty or evidence of working towards.
  • Evidence of study at degree level.
  • Experience of working in infection prevention and control.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
  • Evidence of ability to effectively co-ordinate a team.
