Achieve Maintenance Excellence

Thorn Baker Construction seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team in one of their factories. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of factory machinery. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure all machinery is in good working order, escalating any concerns that may impact productivity. You will be responsible for scheduling and undertaking planned preventative maintenance tasks on all machinery used within the factory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all machinery is in good working order and report any issues to the Factory Manager.
  • Schedule and undertake planned preventative maintenance tasks on all machinery used within the factory.
  • Work closely with the health and safety department to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Resolve mechanical breakdowns on all equipment within the production area quickly and efficiently, prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of employees.
  • Undertake specific project work as directed by your line manager.
  • Monitor the air handling plant and resolve any breakdowns as necessary.
  • Provide engineering support to other production departments or site services as required.

Requirements

An experienced Maintenance Engineer with a proven track record of carrying out minor maintenance work on a variety of machinery is required. Previous experience in a manufacturing plant, particularly in a timber frame environment, is highly desirable. A thorough understanding of process improvement and the ability to monitor and improve efficiencies within the engineering team are essential.
