About the Role

The Quality Director will oversee all quality assurance and quality control functions at the manufacturing site, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage the quality team, and collaborate with other departments to enhance overall product quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards to ensure all products meet quality specifications.
  • Manage regulatory compliance, including GMP: ISO 22716, and stay updated with changes in regulations.
  • Investigate consumer complaints, provide feedback to consumer affairs, and implement improvement actions.
  • Assess and resolve supply quality issues, and develop continuous improvement programs with suppliers.
  • Manage overhead spend for the QA department and ensure compliance with RSPO certification.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead the quality team, ensuring the right people are in the right roles, and development plans are in place for all team members.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production, planning, and R&D, to enhance overall product quality and operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and deploy programs to improve process mastery and repeatability, and reduce non-quality costs.
  • Ensure a strong partnership with other functions for delivery of factory key results.
Project Management
  • Define project charters, clear success criteria, and deliver objectives on a timely and quality manner.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Chemistry master or equivalent degree qualified.
  • 5 or more years' site-based quality leadership experience within cosmetics/consumer goods/Medical device/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, including ISO 22716, and mandatory national standards.
Required Characteristics and Behaviors
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Able to be decisive and a fearless decision maker.
  • Drives activity in others with energy, likes to get things done.
  • Data-driven mindset.
